For many Americans, the statement “Never Forget” isn’t just a resolve to remember 9/11, but also a statement of admission that we will never be able to forget that day. Most Americans who lived through the devastation of 9/11 can still recall where they were and what they felt in those moments. Shock, disbelief, stillness, fear, horror, and sadness are all emotions used to describe that day. In the days that followed, we found hope in the resolve to stand together, put aside our differences, and be one as Americans. We were all hurting, and we needed each other. We rose as one nation and stood united.
So why do we support remembering 9/11? At Bulwark, we value family. Family for us is a unit where we know we are loved and we know that we belong. While we do respect and encourage the traditional family unit, we also extend our love and belonging beyond that core unit. In this way, Bulwark looks to the community and people around us, and we long for real connections. Our goal with encouraging and fostering meaningful events like 9/11 is to build connectivity, to build our Bulwark family, and to help lift those around us, to lift our nation.
For the 20-year anniversary of 9/11, Bulwark designed a hat to be worn by all of Bulwark’s service professionals, which they wore on the 20th anniversary in 2021 and for the rest of 2021. This small act was our way of staying united. It was a way to connect with our communities. It was our way of honoring the lives lost and the lives given on 9/11. As we approach this year’s anniversary of 9/11, Bulwark will make these 9/11 hats available for public purchase. $15 of each hat purchase will be donated to the “Never Forget Fund” in an effort to help preserve the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at Ground Zero. We invite you to stand with us as fellow citizens and as one great nation.
